About Us
Tennessee Turf Specialists is a small batch lawn care provider. This means that we limit the size of our customer base. Developing a large customer base will always come with sacrificing service quality. We choose to keep it small with the best service possible. Owner Sam Oliver has over 20 years of experience in the turfgrass industry. Sam holds a degree in Plant Science from the University of Tennessee, with a turf grass emphasis. He has honed his skills over the years working at golf courses, sports turf facilities, and operating his own businesses. Rest assured that we only provide the highest quality services for our customers.

We offer complete lawn care programs custom tailored to fit your lawn. In Tennessee we enjoy a little
bit of each season. This climate is considered a transition zone. Most lawns north of Tennessee are cool
season turf: Fescue or Bluegrass. While lawns south of Tennessee mostly consist of warm season turf:
Bermudagrass, Zoysia, and St. Augustine. Here inside Tennessee, we have warm and cool season turf.
Cool season and warm season turfgrass require different applications throughout the year, and
developing a program tailoring to one or the other is crucial.
Tennessee Turf Specialists’ lawn care program consists of a full fertility, weed control (pre and post
emergent), preventative fungicide and grub control, and aerating along with over seeding. Many factors
determine when each of these steps are performed. Soil temps, air temps, precipitation, and turf
species can all affect the timing of these applications. Rest assured that Tennessee Turf Specialists
monitor all the factors closely ensuring the correct timing for your lawn care applications.
